Nicole Shively

Nicole Shively is a freshman from Lincoln East High School and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. In high school, she participated in Wind Ensemble and marching band, serving as section leader her junior and senior years. She also participated in various ensembles and honor bands, including Lincoln Youth Symphony, musical pit, brass choir, pep band, prep jazz band (flute/trombone), woodwind choir (flute), Doane Honor Band, and UNL Winter Winds. She also competed in the LPS Solo/Ensemble competition for three years. She was named Outstanding Wind Ensemble Member, received the Blue Key Service Award, and was a two-time recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award. She was an active member and treasurer of Tri-M Music Honor Society and counseled for three years at the LPS Elementary Summer Band Camp.

At UNL, she participates in the Cornhusker Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and the Husker Horn Choir. In addition to music, Nicole is involved with Phi Mu Fraternity, Students Together Against Cancer, and the Honors Program. .
