About our Studio

The saxophone studio is a vibrant part of the Glenn Korff School of Music and offers degrees in education and performance at the undergraduate (B.M.E, B.A. and B.M.) and graduate levels (M.M. and D.M.A. in traditional and jazz performance).  From applied study in both classical and jazz saxophone to quartets, "Supersax" ensembles and choir, today's saxophone student is afforded a wealth of learning and opportunity.

Saxophone students have presented as soloists, clinicians and as chamber ensembles at renowned events such as the Music Educator's National Conference, U.S. Navy International Saxophone Symposium, and at national and regional meetings of the North American Saxophone Alliance and Music Teachers National Association Conferences.  Additionally, their talents have been recognized in such publications as Downbeat Magazine and Jazz Times Magazine and at such festivals the the UNC Greeley Jazz Festival, KU Jazz Festival, Elmhurst Jazz Festival and US Navy Saxophone Symposium.

Graduates of our studio have gone on to occupy teaching assistantships at distinguished programs, hold teaching positions at nationally recognized high school programs and prominent institutions of higher learning as well as distinguish themselves as soloist, internationally, in both the jazz and classical genres.
