School of Music presents Verdi's Requiem

Lincoln, Neb. - Around 350 members of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and combined choruses will perform Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem on Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lied Center for Performing Arts in honor of the 200th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

Thallas wins Nebraska Jazz Orchestra competition

Lincoln, Neb. - Luke Thallas, a sophomore tenor trombonist from Council Bluffs, Iowa, majoring in music education, has won the 2013 Nebraska Jazz Orchestra Young Jazz Artist Competition. He will perform with the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra on Tuesday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cornhusker Marriott, 333 S 13th St. in Lincoln.

IAS opens "Ancient World Through Modern Eyes"

Lincoln, Neb. - The Interdisciplinary Arts Symposium’s fourth season explores “Ancient World Through Modern Eyes” this semester. IAS is a theme-based, public performance series with artists in residence, a seminar for UNL students, public lectures to complement the performances and a book series, published by the University of Nebraska Press.

Friends of Opera funds Ariel Bybee Endowment
