Running and racing might run through their veins, but both Clark Potter and Tom Larson with the UNL School of Music take on another role together when it comes to the Havelock Charity Run – co-director.
On June 1, the two will be co-director of the event for the seventh time.
Junior UNL tuba major Austin Marks won the Mock Orchestra audition at the Great Plains Regional Tuba - Euphonium Conference in Kearney in early May. Marks outpaced 13 competitors for the top prize, which included cash and a gift certificate.
Lincoln, Neb. - The University of Nebraska–Lincoln School of Music has announced that Nathaniel Sullivan, a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance senior from Bettendorf, Iowa, has been selected by the faculty as the Presser Undergraduate Scholar for 2013. The announcement was made in the School of Music’s Convocation on April 25.
Lincoln, Neb. - Nick May, a freshman from Lincoln, started playing the saxophone for two reasons: Lisa from “The Simpsons,” one of May’s favorite TV shows, played the saxophone, and he could play it himself.
Lincoln, Neb. - Tim Wilkins, a senior music major at UNL, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship. The music composition major will be traveling to Bulgaria for an English teaching assistantship after he graduates this spring.
Lincoln, Neb. - Around 350 members of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and combined choruses will perform Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem on Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lied Center for Performing Arts in honor of the 200th anniversary of the composer’s birth.
