Participants must be in college or recent college graduates (undergraduate or master’s level, or equivalent). International students are welcome. All fellows must be 19 years or older to participate. Individual performers and composers currently in a DMA program will not be considered.

- The recordings should be high-quality sound, and should contain music that demonstrates the technical and interpretive qualities of the individual auditioning.

Pre-formed Groups
Application Requirements
- A separate online application form for each group member
- $5 submission fee for each group member, payable by credit card only
- Up to 5 audio recordings in .mp3 format (60 MB maximum total size, approximately 45 minutes of music). Only one applicant for the group need submit the audio recording(s).
- The recordings should be high-quality sound, and should contain music that demonstrates the technical and interpretive qualities of the individual auditioning.

Composers
Application Requirements
- Online application form
- $5 submission fee, payable by credit card only
- 2 representative chamber music scores in .pdf format
- Recordings of the 2 works represented by the scores (in step 3) in .mp3 format (60 MB maximum total size, approximately 45 minutes of music)
- A curriculum vitae that includes a list of works with instrumentation, timings and performances in .pdf format

If space allows, individual applicants will be accepted and placed into a group upon acceptance into the program.
Students must play one of the following instruments:
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello
- Double Bass
- Piano
- Flute
- Oboe
- Clarinet
- French Horn
- Bassoon
- Trumpet
- Trombone
- Tuba
Individual students accepted will be placed into chamber music groups together and assigned repertoire by their assigned coaches to learn over the course of the week.
Pre-formed Groups

Pre-formed groups will be accepted.
Preference is given to the following pre-formed groups:
- String quartet
- Woodwind quintet
- Brass quintet
- Piano trio
- Piano quartet
- String quintet
Pre-formed groups not listed above may also apply and may be accepted at the discretion of the program faculty.
Composers

Composers will be paired with ensembles upon acceptance.
Composers accepted into the Institute will be matched with a participating chamber music group before arrival. Composers will bring a new work to be performed by that group at the Friday Composer’s Concert, will work with the ensemble during the week, and will receive feedback from the CMI faculty.
CMI participants will have access to the School of Music computer lab which includes Yamaha XG-midi workstations, Finale 2007 and Sibelius 4.0 software. Printing is also available. Participants must bring their own laptops. Wireless connections are available.
