Flute Day is here again! High school flutists will perform in morning masterclasses with Dr. Bailey, UNL professor of flute, and guest collegiate flutists perform in the afternoon masterclass . There will be a flute choir reading session for all participants (bring your flutes!) and a showcase recital featuring UNL flutists performing flute and piano and flute solo works. An evening recital showcases the UNL Flute Ensemble, Stephanie DiMauro, conductor, plus chamber flute groups from the studio, and concludes with the reading of the Bach Air with all Flute Day participants.
Requests to play in the masterclasses will be honored as received, with preference given to 11th and 12th graders and visiting college flutists. Younger flutists will be selected as space permits. Those selected to play in the masterclasses will be contacted.
